You really shouldn't build the locate.database directly like this. There is a script located in /etc/periodic/weekly called 310.locate. This is the script that the system runs weekly to update your locate.database. If you have a brand new install, chances are this weekly job hasn't run — it's usually enabled by default. If that's the case, just:

sudo /etc/periodic/weekly/310.locate

This script will take care of changing to the nobody/nogroup user before executing the update.

do you know how to get the original parameters for the locate database (allowing only searches in your own directories) after using the command sudo usr/… I used sudo chmod o-r /var/db/locate.database then i have to use locate with sudo (ie "sudo locate …"). That's less risked but i wanna use locate with differents account only in their sessions as set by defaults.
